The Hyams Foundation is a private, independent foundation with a mission of increasing economic and social justice and power within low-income communities in Boston and Chelsea, Massachusetts.
At Common Stream, we believe that people are divided by race, class, gender, sexual orientation, age and culture because of an unfair distribution of power and resources. This inequity harms all people and is destroying the environment for all species. We support building a progressive movement in the United States in order to realize a vision of justice, ecological integrity, and equality.
The mission of the The Lenny Zakim Fund is to identify, listen to, support and connect grassroots community organizations and programs operating "below the radar screen" of large charitable groups and government grants. The Lenny Zakim Fund provides assistance to those who demonstrate the will and potential to make a difference, but lack the necessary resources.
At Haymarket People's Fund, we stand firm to uphold our mission of supporting grassroots groups across New England by providing much needed resources. For thirty-five years, we’ve been providing money to almost every major social justice movement in New England. We are moving forward with a commitment to anti-racist organizing and with the deepest respect for the efforts and accomplishments of the groups we fund.
The Barr Foundation's mission is to support gifted leaders and networked organizations working in Boston and beyond to enhance educational and economic opportunities, to achieve environmental sustainability, and to create rich cultural experiences - all with particular attention to children and families living in poverty.
